We have been overwhelmed by the response from the community and local businesses alike, the offers of support have been varied and generous, but all have certainly touched our hearts.
The Trust is committed to ensuring we make the most of every one of your valued donations. With this in mind, we have put together a list of suggestions on how you can contribute, so we only receive the items we need.
One of the most effective and simplest ways you can donate is through our Just Giving page: https://www.justgiving.com/doncasterandbassetlawhospitalsnhstrust
Funds are being used to purchase items which will make the most difference to patients and staff at the moment.
Health and Wellbeing for staff
We have put together a wish list of items, such as essential toiletry items and snacks, for members of the team who are working and living in hospital accommodation temporarily. These items can be purchased on Amazon and will be delivered directly to our hospitals.
Alternatively, you can use the list as examples of the things we need and purchase the items elsewhere. Please drop these items off at the main stores (gate 5) or call ahead to arrange collection through the communications team.
Rainbow rooms and items of comfort
The Trust has put aside spaces for staff who need some time to restore their energy levels and promote feelings of peace and wellbeing. These rooms, called Rainbow rooms, will be stocked with items to give comfort. We would like items such as hand cream, healthy snacks and drinks. We are also on the lookout for images of support to display in the rooms. If you have a creative child at home and wish to send in a bright and colourful picture, please email a photo of the artwork to email@example.com and we will make sure it is printed and placed in one of the rooms.
Scrubs, headbands and laundry bags
The Trust would be happy to receive these items. In order for the scrubs to comply with regulations, please make sure they meet the following requirements:
- Industrially launderable
- Fire Retardant
We ask that where possible, scrubs are blue in colour.
To alleviate pressure on the ears whilst wearing masks, several designs have been developed to relieve the pressure the straps put on the ears. If you have seen any of the designs of headbands on social media and would like to contribute, please get in touch.
Laundry bags are cloth drawstring bags staff use to put their uniform in at the end of their shift. This helps to control the spread of the virus. The uniform and bag can then be washed at home.
If you wish to donate any of these items, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org to arrange a delivery.
Anyone who wishes to give their spare time to help the Trust can email: email@example.com. Please include what skills and resource you have and we will respond back to you.
For companies who can help donate items or resources
