Christmas donations to DBTH

Due to Covid-19, we are having to do things slightly different this Christmas time.

Thank you for your kind offer to donate gifts to our wards this Christmas.

Historically, the incredible support from our local communities with present donations has helped us lift spirits of our patients staying with us during the festive period, but this year, due to Covid-19, we have to think differently.

To keep our staff and patients safe, it is much more difficult to distribute gifts of toys, sweet treats and presents that are brought into our hospitals.

Instead, this December we’re asking if you would be willing to make a donation to our Starlight campaign (where we will light up all of our hospital sites with illuminated star decorations in December in memory of those we have lost to Covid-19) with the proceeds going towards a variety of improvements within the care we provide to our patients, as well as our facilities.

We know that not being able to come on site and donate will be disappointing, but with your help we can still make this Christmas special for our patients and staff. Please note, we know that some of you will have already bought some gifts, and not to worry we will happily accept these and present them accordingly.

If you would like to make a donation to help us buy a gift, please visit

If you have any questions you can contact the Fundraising and Communications Team on 01302 644244 / dbth.charity@nhs.net

Thank you for helping us go above and beyond – your kindness means the world to us and hopefully we will be able to return to normality next year.
