The clap for Dr Atalla

Colleagues on our Gresley Unit suggested that we observe a minute’s round of applause for our colleague Dr Atalla, who sadly passed away on Wednesday 22 April.

This was undertaken on 27 April at 2pm, across three hospital sites and with the participation of hundreds of NHS colleagues.

Dr Tim Noble, Medical Director at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals, said: “We are all deeply saddened by the loss of Dr Atalla.  He was a great colleague and a special person who cared for patients in our Trust and over three continents in a career which spanned four decades. As a whole team, we will observe a minute’s long round of applause today to show our appreciation for a wonderful colleague who made such a difference to the lives of so many patients.

“We will miss Medhat and we share our deepest sympathies and condolences with his family and loved ones in Egypt.”
