Covid-19 update (21 January)

Our weekly Covid-19 update at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH).

As of today, we have 127 patients with us receiving care for Covid-19. That’s 99 at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, 24 at Bassetlaw and four at Montagu Hospital. This represents a very small decrease since last week – however we will take good news where we can find it!

Of these patients, 15 currently require intensive care and we wish them our very best. Overall, the age range of those with us is between 29 and 96.

Colleagues continue to work tirelessly for our patients, and we are buoyed by your support. In Doncaster, we have vaccinated the majority of those over 80, within care homes as well as front-line health and social care workers. Locally we’re pulling out all the stops to ensure we can get back to a sense of normality in the not too distant future, and you’re helping us every step of the way by observing hands, face and space, as well as current restrictions. For that, we thank you.

Let’s keep going and give COVID-19 the boot out of our towns.
