An exciting opportunity has arisen for highly motivated and suitably experienced advanced clinical practitioner, to work with senior surgical staff, including a team of clinical practitioners to deliver effective emergency and elective pathways across the Surgical Specialities.

The post holder will work as part of multidisciplinary team to provide improved surgical provision for patients within the Surgical Division; providing a consistent and high quality approach to service provision.

The post holder will be professionally responsible to the Head of Nursing (Surgery and Cancer Services Division) and working autonomously and in conjunction with the Surgical MDT assessing, planning care and evaluating interventions across the Elective and Emergency Pathway. The post holder will work across a range of specialities supporting the delivery of emergency hot clinics at Bassetlaw Hospital and the Emergency Surgical Ambulatory Care Unit at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, in addition to generic ward duties and colorectal clinics required within the elective and emergency pathways.

Applicants must be able to work on all the Trusts sites and will be expected to work internal rotation including out of hours and night service cover. The post holder will work at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Hospitals covering a range of shift patterns providing a 7 – day (Monday to Sunday) service incorporating both the Surgical Emergency and Elective pathway.

The post holder will be expected to already have completed study relevant to the role at Master’s level and be able to provide evidence of having a range of clinical competencies required for the role. The post holder will have a job plan designed to meet the needs of the service which will be reviewed annually, or as required (depending on service changes).
