We are looking for an enthusiastic and motivated individual, who is interested in a business administration and clerical role within the Clinical Coding Department, based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. Clinical Coding involves analysing the clinical documentation written in the patient’s case notes by the doctor to find out what the patient has been admitted to hospital for, any existing chronic conditions and what treatment they have received. This information is then translated into a standardised format using clinical codes and entered into the patient record on the hospital system. The clinically coded data is used for many purposes including income, health trends, service provision and clinical audit.

You will be given a mixture of administration duties; assisting with record keeping (paper and electronic), communicating with staff members from other departments by email, telephone and in person, arranging meetings, use of photocopier, PC, and filing systems.
