The Communications and Engagement team at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) is looking for an enthusiastic and motivated Community Communications Engagement Assistant. The successful candidate will play a vital role in ensuring the success of the NHS Screening Programmes which are Cervical Screening, Breast Screening, Diabetic Eye Screening and Abdominal Aortic Aneurysm (AAA).

The post holder will work with the Senior Communications and Engagement Officer and Screening Administrator to assist in the delivery of sustained engagement and communications campaigns that raise awareness amongst target audiences and encourage action and participation in the screening programmes, much of which will be achieved through community engagement and events. They will also work closely with the South Yorkshire and Bassetlaw Programme Managers from the four screening programmes.

They will be extremely confident in talking to and engaging with people in a variety of environments including public events, workshops and meetings. They will also have good writing skills and an understanding of various communication methods including a variety of social media platforms.

The post will be based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary however it will require a significant amount of travel in order to attend events for the South Yorkshire & Bassetlaw (SY&B) screening teams – Barnsley, Bassetlaw (Worksop and Retford in north Nottinghamshire), Doncaster, Rotherham and Sheffield.

The post will also require some flexibility to work weekends and evenings- responding to events and community activity appropriately.
