An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals as an Apprentice Typesetter.
DBTH is one of Yorkshire’s leading acute trusts, serving a population of more than 420,000 across South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and the surrounding areas. Hosting three main hospital sites and a number of additional services, the Trust is one of only five Teaching Hospitals in Yorkshire and employs over 6,000 people in a number of roles and specialties.
Based primarily at Doncaster Royal Infirmary, as an Apprentice Typesetter you will form part of Communications Department, specifically undertaking projects within the Graphics Team. A wide and varied role, you will assist in creating and designing Trust leaflets, forms and other items of patient information as well as perform administrative and reception duties, welcoming patients and colleagues who require assistance, either in person or over the phone.
Under the tutelage of the Trust’s Graphic Designers you will learn how to use a range of Adobe programs, such as InDesign, Illustrator and Photoshop, which will aid you in daily tasks, as well as liaising and building relationships with local printers.
As a team which serves a number of specialties and departments, you will ensure that the Trust’s brand identity is consistent across all forms, of which there are over 1,500, and will help to update administrative systems as well as general file management.
As Apprentice Typesetter you will work within a fast-paced environment, with tight deadlines to fulfil and a variety of projects to undertake. As the post-holder you will need to be motivated, enthusiastic, with a desire to learn.
The post is fixed term over a period of 18 months, during which you will be required to complete a Level 3 Digital Media Apprenticeship. You will also attend study days during working hours.
