We are looking for a highly motivated and driven individual to join a rapidly expanding team that is undergoing significant investment both in terms of staff and hardware/software.

The role will play a key part in helping the Trust deliver against its overall goal of becoming “the safest Trust in England, outstanding in all that we do”.

You will be joining at an exciting time for the Department and be key player in the development and roll out of new reporting technologies to help provide the Trust with accurate and up to date data which will be improved by detailed analysis. This would be done using a wide variety of statistical methods to help inform decision making that will have a direct impact on patient care.

Main duties of the job

The main duties of the role centre around ensuring that local and national data is reported accurately and in a timely fashion. There is a requirement to balance a large workload set against national deadlines.

The role will require you to produce, analyse and report against varying data sources to provide key reports both internally and externally to help ensure that the Trust can provide the best service possible for all patients.

You will be involved in developing new reports using new reporting technologies.

As well as providing support to provide statutory data you will also be asked to provide bespoke, ad-hoc information by the Clinical Divisions and supporting services. These requests can be varied and require a keen understanding of how services are delivered. This knowledge base will be gained over time with support from colleagues within the Team.

The Information Department is undergoing a major investment and expansion with an additional 12 new posts available for the right people to come and join our fantastic team.

The additional roles demonstrate a significant investment from the Trust and a recognition of the importance of the functions performed with the Information Department. The need for accurate, timely and high-quality information along with detailed levels of business intelligence is critical for the Trust.

The Trust has also made a significant investment in a new Data Warehouse and Cloud technology which will be complemented by some new reporting toolsets to help deliver business intelligence and the strategic vision of the Trust.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Due to an internal promotion we have a vacancy for an Information Analyst. You will provide direct support to one of the Senior Information Analyst Specialists whilst also developing knowledge across all areas which will include Elective Access, Emergency Access, A&E and Same Day Emergency, Income, Projects and Change, Systems and Quality agenda.

The role involves processing data as well as the analysis, interpretation and presentation of highly complex information to support the business needs of the Trust.

Having achieved an A Level or equivalent in a numerate subject, you must have analytical skills with an ability to interpret, analyse, present, and provide business intelligence.

You will also be a good communicator who can present information appropriate to the intended audience.

You will be responsible for the submission of a variety of key national data submissions and play a key role in improving internal reporting adding value and intelligence to a wide variety of different datasets.
