We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic, highly motivated person to study and develop the skills, to become a registered Pharmacy Technician. This is a 2 year fixed term Level 3 Apprenticeship working for Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. You will receive 4 days ‘on the job’ training in the workplace and 1 day ‘off the job’ to undertake a distance learning study program to achieve a recognised Level 3 Pharmacy Qualification. Throughout your training you will receive full support from our education team. On successful completion you will be eligible to register with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacy Technician.

Based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary this is an excellent opportunity to pursue a career as a registered pharmacy professional whilst working in the NHS. The apprenticeship is further supported by the North School of Medicines Optimisation representing Health Education England.

These are exciting times for Pharmacy Technicians, with many role developments taking place across all Healthcare Sectors. Your apprenticeship will ensure you receive full training and knowledge in order to deliver excellent, safe patient care, whether you are dispensing; using an automated dispensing system, taking part in medicines reconciliation; working within a pharmacy ward based team, or preparing Aseptic products.

To be considered for this apprenticeship you will need to be a highly organised individual, capable of meeting deadlines and working both as part of a team or on your own. Your role whilst based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary will involve working across all sites when required to support your training. Throughout your Pharmacy career you will be expected to demonstrate continuous professional development. The minimum entry requirements are 5 GCSEs at Level 4 or above (or equivalent), these must include English Language, Mathematics and 2 Sciences.
