Toni Peet, Lung Cancer Nurse Specialist
Toni has recently been undertaking studies to make improvements to the patient journey. She completed her prescribing course which has enabled her to prescribe pain medication in a timely manner without having to contact the GP and then the patient having to wait for prescriptions. She then completed her APAX course to do physical examinations in clinic or during emergency home visits. Finally she is the first CNS in Doncaster to become a Systematic Anti-Cancer Therapy Nurse.
Rebecca Burns, Clinical Support Co-ordinator
Rebecca first started work in the Trust 2013 in the service department, and has since developed her knowledge and skills to progress to Health Care Assistant on Mallard Ward from 2016. Rebecca’s most recent achievement is a new job role of Clinical Support Co-ordinator, which she commenced this year.
Rebecca embodies the Trusts WECARE values in everything that she does both at work and outside as a representative of our organisation. A comment from one of her college tutors: “Rebecca is a highly dedicated student who has a fantastic presence in the learning environment. She was a tower of support to her fellow students and encompassed the essence of DBTH and its values.”
Michelle Beynon, Service Manager
Michelle was appointed following the recent clinical admin review and restructure from Care Groups into Divisions, having previously worked in an outpatient coordinator role. She had been in post a matter of weeks when the division was beset by a period of long term sickness, vacancies and annual leave.
This meant Michelle stepping up into an area of work that she was unfamiliar with and for services that she hadn’t worked with previously. This should have been a supporting role with her Business Manager leading the process, but Michelle understood this was a priority area for the division and showed a natural ability to be able to take on a project at short notice and deliver within the timescales required.
