An exciting opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, highly motivated registered nurse who has the ability and would enjoy the opportunity to develop high standards of person-centred care in our award winning Care of Older People’s facility.

Ward A4 is a light and airy 22 bedded ward. We care for patients with a variety of medical needs, including Acute Medicine, Stroke Rehabilitation and End of Life Care.

Our specially developed End of Life room helps to deliver person centred care to our patients and families in a less hospitalised setting, with families welcome to the ward at any time.

We are also leading the work on the prevention of deconditioning for patients with campaigns such as #endPJparalysis and #last 1000 days helping to value our patient’s time.

The MSK & Frailty Care Group continually promotes Quality Improvement to deliver person centred care. The display of ‘Days since’ our last hospital acquired harm data is visual on the entrance to our wards. This increases our openness to the public, and demonstrates our commitment to continually strive for improvement to keep our patients harm free and safe.

Supported by the Senior Sister and Junior Sister, you will develop your professional accountability, and innovative thinking. You will be responsible for contributing to high standards of care delivery.

We strongly recommend that you visit the Ward during the application process so that you understand fully the types of patients on our Wards, our patient management process with the MDT and how we facilitate timely discharges and communicate this to our patients and their families.

If you want to make a difference to the care of older persons and their families, feel a sense of achievement in your job, and that your work can make an impact on local people’s lives then we would like to hear from you.
