We have a number of opportunities to join our Information Team as it expands following a restructure.

The sharing of information is integral to DBTH’s vision of becoming the ‘Safest Trust in England, outstanding in all that we do’. Not only does it inform our health professionals of how we are doing, it also shapes our direction for the weeks, months and years ahead, to ensure we are able to deliver the highest quality care for our ever-expanding populations in Doncaster, Worksop and the surrounding areas.

Following a review and substantial investment, the award-winning Information Team at the Trust is expanding to ensure it can continue to meet the needs of the organisation, delivering accurate, accessible and timely data to the various services within the organisation. In a post-Covid world, the sharing of our activity has never been more important, and you will be joining an essential function at a crucial time, and will help to make a huge difference.

Senior Information Developer (one post available)
37.5 hours per week (flexi-time), Band Seven (£38,890 to £44,503):

The Information Development Team is responsible for the development and maintenance of our in house Data warehouse and reporting systems. The role will be required to interpret complex requests and ensure data is available in a suitable format for use by other members of the Information Department and others across the Trust. This role gives an opportunity to join a large forward thinking organisation and help shape the direction of travel in areas such as Data Warehousing as we look to move to more Cloud based solutions as well as helping develop our Business Intelligence reporting functionality.

You will lead a team of two Information Developers and be the lead on key projects such as the move to Cloud based data warehousing solutions as well as the development of Business Intelligence reporting that is available at the fingertips of key stakeholders to aid in Trust wide decisions

A logical thinker who can work using your own initiative, you will also be a confident and excellent communicator.

Educated to degree level, or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline plus a post graduate diploma or equivalent experience in a software or information development role.  NHS developer experience is also essential and preferably have a solid background in basic SQL 2008 and reporting services.

Although the post is primarily based at Doncaster Royal Infirmary there will be an expectation to work across all Trust sites.

Trainee Information Developer (one post available)
37.5 hours per week (flexi-time), Band Four (£21,892 to £24,157):

The Information Development Team is responsible for the development and maintenance of our in house Data warehouse and reporting systems. The role will be required to interpret complex requests and ensure data is available in a suitable format for use by other members of the Information Department and others across the Trust. This role gives an opportunity to join a large forward thinking organisation and help shape the direction of travel in areas such as Data Warehousing as we look to move to more Cloud based solutions as well as helping develop our Business Intelligence reporting functionality.

You will come with new and fresh ideas and be give opportunities to support on key projects within the Team as well as build up your knowledge, skill and experience to help towards future career progression.

Educated to degree level with some experience in a software development environment are essential requirements. You will be a team player and will have excellent communication skills with a strong ability to interpret a user’s requirements to provide the right technical solution.

Data Scientist (one post available)
37.5 hours per week (flexi-time), Band Seven (£38,890 to £44,503):

This a brand new role within the Information team. We are looking for an experienced and enthusiastic Data Scientist to come in to spearhead and shape the development of this role within the Trust.

Using the relevant programming tools and techniques we will be looking to develop our data modelling and predictive analytic. This will be key to help the Trust plan for the future and understand using scientific methodologies to help us plan and deliver high quality services for patients.

You will work closely with colleagues across the Information Department to help with complex modelling work and play a key role in helping train relevant members of staff.

There is also an expectation that you will also work closely with peers from across the Health and Social Care network, locally and nationally to support joint working and to ensure we are sharing skills, techniques and data sources, such as Population Health.  These are areas where we historically do not have involvement in so the role is key to driving the Trusts capabilities forward.

Educated to degree level, or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline plus a working and applicable knowledge using programmes such as, but not limited to R and Python.  You will be highly motivated, able to work on your own initiative and have excellent communication skills.

Your base will be Doncaster Royal Infirmary but you may be required to work across all sites within the Trust.

Information and Performance Business Partner four post available)
37.5 hours per week (flexi-time), Band Seven (£38,890 to £44,503):

The role will report directly to the Head of Performance as well as having a professional line to the Information Services Manager.

Educated to degree level or equivalent, you will have a strong analytical background. You will provide expert support to the Divisions to help them understand their individual performance metrics and help them formulate strategies and business plans to improve decision making to support delivery.

You must be an excellent communicator and have the ability to quickly build up strong relationships and rapport with key members of staff across the organisation and become quickly fully integrated into a Clinical Division as well as strong links back into the wider Information team. You will need to establish a detailed knowledge of how the Clinical Division operates and be able to convert data into valuable business intelligence

Your base will be Doncaster Royal Infirmary but you may be required to work across all sites within the Trust.

These four roles will complement the existing Senior Information Analyst Specialists and jointly they will cover a wide variety of areas such as, Elective Access, Emergency Access, A&E and Same Day Emergency, Income, Projects and Change, Systems and Quality agenda.
