Employing over 6,000 people over three hospital sites, every member of staff contributes to patient care, and has a personal stake in our future successes and achievements. As a Trust, it’s important to us that we retain, and develop, a great sense of community and identity, with an accessible leadership team and a great sense that each and every member of the team can make the difference.

As a member of Team DBTH, you will deliver safe, compassionate care, achieving to the highest standards of patient experience. You will be focused, enthusiastic and embody our vision of turning best practice into common practice, exampling our ‘We Care’ values in your daily work.

We are proud that many of those in senior positions within the Trust began their careers here, and we have a large number of long serving team members, with one member of staff recently retiring after 60 years of service, having spent their entire career at the Trust.

It is our goal to give those who join Team DBTH the tools and opportunities in order to grow their career, with many of our staff starting their career at the Trust before going on to leadership roles within the organisation or local NHS. So whether you spend just one year or fifty with us, it’s our pledge to help you Develop, Belong and Thrive, Here.

As a Teaching Hospital, we are particularly passionate about our Preceptorship Programme, with our Clinical Educators on hand in each area of the Trust to enable you to reach your full potential as a nurse.

We take pride in developing the next generation of nurses for the NHS, instilling our caring values and giving you the tools and confidence to make the difference for patients.
