ProQuest – getting started

Proquest provides access to the following databases:

PsychINFO
APA PsychArticles
BNI (British Nursing Index)

How to get in?

Knowledge & Library Hub

  1. Log in via yellow banner at the top of the page
  2. Go to in-depth searching at the bottom at the page
  3. Select the database you want to search

Login via OpenAthens

  1. Log into your OpenAthens account and from the Resources page, click on “ProQuest“.
  2. Choose a database to search – such as PsychInfo. They’re all selected to begin with, and you can choose more than one, but you have less control over the search, so we prefer one at a time. Click “Use selected databases“.
  3. Now you’ll see the ProQuest search interface. Remember to ‘Sign in‘ using the head & shoulders icon at the top of the page (you’ll probably need to create an account the first time) – this will let you save your results and searches.

Remember, tools like PICO (clinical questions), ECLIPS (service design) or SPICE (qualitative questions) might help you organise your search.

ProQuest have produced guides, videos and tips.
