Smoking Cessation

As part of the new QUIT initiative, the Trust is committed to offering stop smoking support to every patient who is a smoker that attends one of our hospitals – whether that be as an inpatient, outpatient, A+E patient or member of staff.

Smoking is the single biggest cause of preventable deaths, disability and illness but QUIT aims to make sure every patient has access to the best treatments and expert support to treat this disease.

Through QUIT, the Trust offers stop smoking services, with nicotine replacement therapies (such as skin patches, gum, inhalers, tablets, lozenges, sprays) and support, whilst in hospital, with ongoing support once you are discharged.

Here at DBTH, we have Tobacco Treatment Advisors who support our clinical staff in delivering stop smoking services. The Programme will also offer advice and support to parents of child patients who smoke.

DBTH is proud to be a smoke-free hospital.
