Your chance to gain an insight into healthcare careers at DBTH and meet with local universities and colleges about courses and qualifications in health and social care.
What will the day include?
There are two sessions, one aimed at students in years 12 and 13 who are considering their next steps in education and are looking to enter the healthcare profession. The other session is aimed at adults who are interested in a career in healthcare or looking to return to healthcare practice.
Student session
This will take place during the day, there are four sessions available, each will cover the same content and will be approximately an hour long. Students can book the session they wish to attend on Eventbrite. Times available are between 11:45am and 4pm.
General public session
This will take place during the evening, there are three sessions available, each will cover the same content and will be approximately an hour long. Those wishing to attend can book their session on Eventbrite. Times available are between 4:45am and 7:30pm.
What can I expect from the event?
There are a range of talks scheduled to include:
- Routes into health and social care from academics from Sheffield Hallam University and The University of Sheffield. Student ambassadors will speak about their experience of student life
- A health and social care panel with representatives from universities giving an interactive talk
- Doncaster College provide information about their further educational opportunities at Levels 2 and 3
- Student finance advice delivered by Student Finance England
- Opportunities within the Trust, how to gain work experience, roles and support with a career at DBTH.
There will also be interactive and educational stands where you can meet representatives from a range of nursing, midwifery and allied health professions. Also on hand will be advisors to discuss student finances, course admissions, qualification requirements and the application process for health career courses.

The event will be held on Friday 26 May 2023.
Where is the ‘Your Future in Healthcare’ event being held?
The event will be held on site at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. Please enter the hospital site via the Women’s and Children’s Hospital entrance on Thorne Road (gate 1) and proceed to the reception area within the entrance of the Women’s and Children’s Hospital.
