Members of Team DBTH will also be on-hand to answer questions, provide information and explain what career paths trainees can follow, once qualified.

Apprenticeships are available at Intermediate Level 2, Advanced Level 3 and Higher and Degree levels 4, 5 and 6, in the following areas:

  • Business Admin
  • Medical Laboratory Assistant
  • Healthcare Scientist
  • Healthcare Assistant
  • Pharmacy.

Elliott Wilson, Training and Education Co-ordinator and former apprentice at the Trust, said: “I began my placement at the Trust in 2013. My Apprenticeship provided me with the opportunity to gain valuable experience and skills, helping me to take steps towards a career in the NHS.

“After finishing school, I was unsure about going into further education. I decided to apply for an apprenticeship at DBTH and, now as a full-time member of the team, I can say it was a very good decision!”

As a teaching hospital, the Trust is committed to providing top-notch placements, successfully recruiting over 100 apprentices in 2016/17. From Business Administrators to Pharmacy Technicians, there are lots of opportunities across the organisation’s three hospital sites in Doncaster, Bassetlaw and Mexborough, to begin a career in health.

Karen Barnard, Director of People and Organisational Development at the Trust, said: “As one of the largest employers in the region, this is a fantastic opportunity to find out about our apprenticeship opportunities. We are always looking to develop our future workforce and I sincerely hope you will think about joining the team, taking those first vital steps on the path to a career in the NHS.”
