An exciting opportunity has arisen at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust for an experienced Senior IT Systems Engineer to work within the Digital Transformation Directorate. The Trust has embarked on a significant journey to digitise ways of working that will fundamentally improve patient care and strive towards the Trusts true north objective ‘to be the safest Trust in England, outstanding in all we do.’

The IT Programme and Development team won the DBTH Star Award 2018 for the development of a Clinical Portal, the teams within the directorate continue to receive nominations and commendations from all levels across the organisation including the Trust Board of Directors.

Working as a key member of a team of skilled staff providing comprehensive services to all members of clinical and support staff across the organisation, you will have extensive working knowledge of a multitude of the following products and systems:

  • Windows Server 2008-2019
  • VMware vSphere / vCenter
  • Active Directory Administration
  • Microsoft DNS / DHCP Services
  • Windows 7-10 Desktop Managment
  • Scripting Languages (e.g. Powershell; Batch files)
  • Microsoft Defender / ATP
  • Software packaging / deployment and patching / update tools (e.g. PDQ; WSUS)
  • Mobile Device Management tools (e.g. AirWatch)
  • Network / System Monitoring tools (e.g. SolarWinds)
  • Data Backup and Recovery tools (e.g. Veeam; Enterprise Vault)
  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008-2016

This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a “hands-on” technical role and make a real service difference to meet the goals of the Trust. It is essential that you are flexible, enthusiastic and can display high levels of initiative, together with the ability to work under reasonable pressure to deliver your duties individually and as part of a team, with minimum supervision. You must also have excellent communication skills and be able to interact and deal with service users and colleagues in a pleasant and efficient manner.
