New Director of Nursing appointed at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals

After a rigorous recruitment process, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) has appointed Moira Hardy as its new Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals.

Assuming the role in an Acting capacity in January 2017, Moira initially joined the Trust in July 2014 as Deputy Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Quality.

With over 30 years of experience in senior nursing roles at the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield, Rotherham Foundation Trust and DBTH, Moira is a strong advocate for patients and is particularly passionate about promoting positive patient experience. During her tenure as Acting Director, Moira has maintained the Trust’s commitment to delivering the highest standards of patient care, ensuring that the organisation makes good progress towards its targets and objectives.

Speaking about her appointment, Moira said: “I am delighted to have been appointed to this role. I have been a member of Team DBTH for over three years, during which time we have made significant strides as an organisation and I hope to continue this as Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals.

“We have some fantastic, skilled and talented teams within the Trust and as Director it’s my ambition to ensure we deliver the best quality of care for the people of Doncaster, Bassetlaw and beyond.”

An integral role at the Trust, the Director of Nursing, Midwifery and Allied Health Professionals provides clear leadership to clinical staff, overseeing the development and delivery of outstanding patient care, while driving the organisation’s strategies for Quality, Patient Experience and Infection Control and Prevention.
