Share your views: Over the counter medicines for minor conditions

Last year the NHS spent approximately £569 million on prescriptions for medicines for minor conditions which could have been bought over the counter from a high street pharmacy or supermarket.

To alleviate these costs and provide better services, the local NHS is asking GPs and other healthcare professionals not to prescribe medicines for minor conditions that can be bought over the counter.

To help the NHS plan for this moving forward the NHS need to know more about how you use medications so that they can review how they spend your money in the future, ensuring everyone can get the prescription medicines they need, when they need them.
