The incentive will begin from 13 December and will be reviewed at the end of each month throughout winter, with a decision made as to whether it will continue (approval will be largely dependent on activity levels and associated pressures).
Rates which will be offered are as follows – these have been benchmarked against our partners in the region and are reflective of the pressures at DBTH:
- Shifts undertaken by midwives – Hourly rate adjustment in-line with other South Yorkshire acute trusts affected by service critical vacancy and winter pressures.
- Peadiatric speciality shifts undertaken across inpatient wards and the Emergency Department for band two to six – Pay to Grade with a 20% uplift.
- Shifts undertaken in adult wards, theatres, recovery and the Emergency Department for band two to six – Pay to Grade with a 20% uplift.
- Shifts that are allocated on arrival (known as pool shifts) for bands two and five – Top of Band plus a 30% uplift.
