Full Time Hours AvailableAre you looking for a new Challenge? Are you enthusiastic about improving the patient experience?

Would you like to be part of a team that wants to make the process of Induction easier for women and their families?

Are you frustrated with delays in care and feel you could help improve our women’s experiences of Induction?  Then this could be the role for you…

If the answer is Yes, then we need you to join our fantastic motivated Midwifery team.

An exciting opportunity has arisen to recruit experienced Band 6 Midwives to join a friendly and dedicated Induction of Labour team at Doncaster & Bassetlaw Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The Induction of Labour suite is based on the Antenatal Ward M2, caring for high risk pregnant women and inpatient/outpatient inductions and the ward Environment currently consists of:

  • 10 Bedded in Patient Unit – for high risk Antenatal admissions.
  • 8 Bedded Induction suite for high and low risk inductions.
  • Antenatal Assessment Day Unit

The Midwifery Management team are forward thinking, innovative and constantly reviewing how we provide care to our patients to improve their experience.

We have recently added the Induction suite and our first line method for induction is the cervical ripening balloon which we are finding to be really successful with good patient feedback.  Our vision is to also start a Pre Induction clinic to meet women and provide them with all the information they require, perform membrane sweeps and book appointments in advance for them to attend for their induction, in the hope women feel more involved in their care and to provide some continuity of care.

We are looking for highly motivated, enthusiastic, experienced midwives who are able to deliver compassionate patient care that is individualised and of a high standard. The applicant will need to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills and be a positive role model to the team and provide clinical leadership whilst being driven by our Trust Values

  • We always put the patient first.
  • Everyone counts – we treat each other with courtesy, honesty, respect and dignity.
  • Committed to quality and continuously improving patient and staff experience.
  • Always caring and compassionate.
  • Responsible and accountable for our actions – taking price in our work and Organisation.
  • Encouraging and valuing our diverse staff and rewarding ability, creativity and innovation

The successful applicants will be a member Induction team and will deliver direct patient care. Opportunities to update in other midwifery areas will be available and encouraged to maintain all skills.

Ideally the candidate is required to have an experience with cervical ripening balloons but in house training will be provided if not.

An understanding of local and national drivers in relation to quality care is essential to deliver safe, efficient and high quality patient care to our local community.

We offer an excellent NHS pension scheme and are perfectly positioned, with the major regional centres, Nottingham, Leeds and Sheffield on our doorstep and the Robin Hood International airport is in close proximity to the Trust including excellent Rail Links (one hour and forty minutes to London).  We also have access to delightful countryside in North Nottinghamshire, Derbyshire and Yorkshire with excellent leisure facilities and low cost housing.

The maternity departments are holding an open day on 13 January 2020, if you interested in attending the open day please email dbth.recruitment@nhs.net
