The post is an exciting opportunity to work as part of a multi-disciplinary research team, managing and coordinating clinical studies for the Trust. This will entail recruiting patients into clinical studies, providing support and education whilst on the clinical study, and the collection and documentation of accurate data. Full training will be given to develop the post.

The function of a Research Sister/Charge Nurse is to assist in the provision of a clinical research service within DBTH. A Research Sister/Charge Nurse is responsible for assessing and managing the care pathways for patients and carers participating in clinical studies.

This involves the recruitment, education and monitoring of research patients and the collection and documentation of accurate data.  The Research Sister/Charge Nurse works collaboratively with the clinical research team and the wider multi-disciplinary team, in the management of a caseload of clinical research patients.

The role involves using an in depth knowledge of research protocols and their application in practice, alongside a working knowledge and compliance with the relevant research regulations.

The post holder will be responsible for screening, recruiting and coordinating a case load of patients and may involve cross site travel.
