Hospital Trust members invited to event

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) is extending an invite to all of its registered members to come along and explore upcoming innovations in emergency care at the Trust.

The event, to take place on Friday 11 May at Bassetlaw Hospital, will be hosted by Suzy Brain England OBE, Chair of the Board, and will feature a presentation on developments within the Emergency Department at Bassetlaw Hospital,  detailing a recent refurbishment which has taken place.

There will also be information available about the launch of Smart-ER at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.  A new and innovative computer system, Smart-ER asks patients to take a few minutes while in the waiting room of the Emergency Department to complete a short, digital form describing their ailment or injury as well as providing general health details.

It is hoped that by implementing this new system, it will improve communication within the urgent service, aiding clinicians in their consultations and treatment and making more productive use of a patient’s waiting time, with the aim of reducing overall time spent within the department.

Suzy Brain England OBE, Chair of the Board at the Trust, said: “I want to encourage our members to attend this event. There are some very exciting developments within emergency care at the Trust and this will be a fantastic opportunity to share what we have planned and how we intend to improve urgent services for the people of Doncaster, Bassetlaw and beyond.”

If you are a member of the Trust and would like to know more about the above developments, you can book your place by emailing matthew.kane1@nhs.net or calling 01302 644157.

The event will be held between 9.30am and 12.00 noon in the Boardroom at Bassetlaw Hospital but places are limited so please book as soon as possible.

If you’re not currently a member of the Trust but would like to be invited to events similar to this one in the future, you can register at dbth.nhs.uk.
