Main duties of the job

You must have a minimum of 1 year clinical experience of working in an acute hospital or community health and social care setting in a clinical role (refer to job specification for area specific entry criteria).

Have completed the Care Certificate and functional skills, level 2 English and Maths or GCSE equivalent as a minimum.

You will be expected to undertake the level 5 Assistant Practitioner Higher Apprenticeship incorporating the Foundation Degree with Sheffield College attending a minimum of 1 day per week for 27 months and pass all relevant assessments (exams, assignments and portfolios) as well as completing a range of generic and local competencies. Holidays will need to be taken around the commitments of the programme so you can meet all of the academic requirements.

You need to be very motivated, and able to demonstrate good written, verbal and IT skills, with the ability to communicate with all members of the health care team. Putting the patient first must be your priority and a track record of providing high quality care is essential.

Theatres – Bassetlaw Hospital

All candidates must be able to work across all DBTH sites . Candidates are required to remain working at the DBTH for a minimum 18 months on completion of the training programme.

Essential criteria

  • Evidence of involvement in service improvement or specific areas of interest/expertise e.g. link person/champion for area
