Recording Your Symptoms
While wearing the monitor, it is important to complete the provided diary sheet. You should record any symptoms you experience, such as pain in the chest, arm, neck or face, sickness, palpitations, dizziness, or shortness of breath. This information is crucial for analysing the ECG recording accurately. If you feel unwell or experience any of these symptoms, you should press either the yellow or green button on the monitor, note the time on the screen, and record it in your diary. Please also include what you were doing at the time and a brief description of the symptom.
Important Information
It is essential to remember that the monitor is not waterproof, so you must not shower or bathe while wearing it. Should you encounter any problems while using the monitor, please get in touch with the department where it was fitted.
You can remove the monitor yourself at home just before you are due to return it. To do this, simply disconnect all three wires from the stickers. The stickers do not need to be returned. The monitor and the completed diary sheet must be returned to the cardio-respiratory department.
