Covid-19 update (14 January)

Our weekly Covid-19 update at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH).

At time of writing, we have 128 patients with us receiving care for Covid-19. DRI is caring for 91 of these patients, 30 are being treated at Bassetlaw and seven are at Montagu Hospital. This is a small rise from last week, but manageable.

Of these patients, 23 patients currently require intensive care. Overall, the age range of those with us is between 36 and 96.

Since the introduction of the national lockdown measures, we have been heartened by your response and support, and our colleagues continue to work hard for local people. You have all done your bit, and we believe this is reflected in the stable and consistent activity we are currently seeing. Keep it up, what you’re doing is working and giving us the headroom we need to both care for patients, and ensure we are well underway with vaccination programmes locally.

We hope you all managed to stay warm and safe today despite the snow. As always, remember hands, face and space – but for this evening, given the weather, we recommend blanket, snuggle and get toasty.

Thank you everybody – let’s keep going and give COVID-19 the boot out of our towns.
