Local hospitals announce results of governor elections

Foundation Trust members have voted in new hospital governors in the latest round of elections at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH).

The election results were confirmed on 16 September and the successful candidates will serve for a term of three years. The election introduces 10 new governors to the Council along with some re-elections to public seats.

As a foundation trust, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals is accountable to local people, patients and staff.  Its 16,000 members are represented by their elected Governors, who feed the views of their members into the Trust to shape future services.

The successful candidates are as follows:

  • Elected as Public Governors for Bassetlaw: Peter Abell, Lynne Schuller and Mary Spencer.
  • Elected as Public Governors for Doncaster: Mark Bright, Lynne Logan, Dennis Atkin and Pauline Riley.
  • Elected for as Public Governors for the Rest of England: Jackie Hammerton and Maria Jackson-James.
  • Elected as Staff Governors: Duncan Carratt, Sophie Gilhooly and Sally Munro.
  • Appointed Partner Governors: Tina Harrison – Director at Doncaster College and University Centre, Phil Holmes, Director of Adults, Health and Wellbeing, Jo Posnett. Interim Deputy Head for Department of Allied Health, Sheffield Hallam University.

I am sure they will bring a fresh perspective, and our re-elected members will continue to offer their support and insight.
