So what’s changed?
The changes are summarised as following (none of our services will use the South Block stop from Monday 5 June):
- The DRI Park and Ride and Montagu shuttles will now utilise the two public bus stops on Armthorpe Road (outside Gate 4) and Thorne Road (between Gates 1 and 2).
- The Bassetlaw shuttle will now utilise the former stop which is situated opposite the Emergency Department and Outpatients.
Both the Park and Ride and Montagu shuttle will take on passengers at BOTH Armthorpe and Thorne Road bus stops.
Unfortunately, the shuttles will not be able to idle at these stops, and will operate like a normal bus taking on and dropping off passengers before moving off. The timetables for both the Park and Ride and Montagu shuttle remain the same.
The Bassetlaw shuttle will collect individuals from the former bus stop, which is opposite Outpatients and the Emergency Department.
What about the map?
We are glad you asked – here are the new stops, marked on the map.
Why are we changing?
We have made these changes as we recognise that our current stop outside South Block poses challenges to patients and colleagues due to its location. Additionally, the change we made during the pandemic was always temporary to accommodate the changes we made to the flow of our sites to limit infection.
Our intention was always to return all shuttles to the former location at Gate 3, however, with increased ambulance traffic, this has meant we have limited capacity for all of our shuttles to pick-up and deposit passengers in this area. The above changes allow us to enhance our ambulance capacity, whilst ensuring individuals have a suitable drop-off point.
The timetable schedules and run frequency remain unchanged and the same as it is now:
- Park and Ride shuttle – leaving every 20 mins, between 5.50am and 10pm, click here to view the schedule.
- DRI to Montagu shuttle – leaving every hour between 7.45am and 5.15pm, click here to view the schedule.
- DRI to Bassetlaw shuttle – leaving every hour, on the hour, between 7am and 6pm, click here to view the schedule.
Note: Due to traffic, these times may vary slightly.
The recently introduced staff transfer service for DBTH colleagues who re-located to the DMBC Civic building will continue as part of the Montagu shuttle service providing two morning pickups and two afternoon returns from DRI at 07.45am and 09.00am and from the Civic/Waterdale bus stop at 15.55pm, 17.10pm.
