If you sign up to one of our patient engagement channels, you can be involved as much or as little as you’d like. Nothing is compulsory but any time you can give to completing a survey or reading through a leaflet is extremely valuable to us so that we can get things right.
We have a number of different ways you can get involved, some more intensive than others:
- Surveys – we are looking for people to fill in some online surveys. These will be sent via email and you can complete as many as you like, or simply choose the ones that relate to you.
- Reader Group – we are looking for people to read over our patient information leaflets. The readers group serves a bit of a road test to ensure that the information we give to patients is appropriate. This isn’t to check the factual content of the information, simply to ensure it makes sense to non-clinically trained members of the public and is explained in the most understandable way. This would be conducted online and you can check as many as you would like
- Focus Groups – Focus Groups will be held ad-hoc and will concern specific topic matters. It could be consultation on a change to a service, an invitation to speak to a group on your experience as a patient or a guided group discussion. These could be conducted online via Microsoft Teams or in person at one of our hospital sites. Again, you could attend as many as you wish.
