Cardio-respiratory

The Cardio-Respiratory Department uses tests to diagnose problems with the heart or lungs.

Contact service

You might have been referred by your consultant for one or more of the following tests on your heart or lungs:

  • Electrocardiography
  • 24 hour ECG and blood pressure monitoring
  • Exercise Testing
  • Rapid Access Chest Pain Clinic
  • Echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound)
  • Pacemaker implantation and follow-up
  • Coronary Angiogram
  • Lung function assessment
  • Sleep Apnoea investigation and CPAP follow up.
  • Tilt testing

Where will your test be done?

Most of the tests can be carried out locally at either Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Bassetlaw Hospital or Montagu Hospital in Mexborough. If you are willing to travel to any one of our hospital sites, you may get an earlier date for your test. Please let a member of staff know if you are able to travel. Some procedures, such as putting in a pacemaker and coronary angiography, can only be done at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.
