The Skin Integrity Team (SIT) aims to provide comprehensive assessment and treatments along with specialist advice and knowledge in the field of skin integrity/tissue viability/wound care management for people living with or at risk of developing a wound in whilst in hospital at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. This service is provided Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays).
The Skin Integrity Team also provide an outpatients facility for people who are having consultant input with their wound post discharge. This takes place in the Skin Integrity Complex Wound Clinic. This service is provided Tuesdays and Fridays (excluding Bank Holidays).
Our Vision
- Provide expert knowledge and experience in assessment and treatment of wound care and prevention.
- Support clinicians in managing people living with or at risk of developing a wound.
- Support people in managing or preventing their own wounds.
- Provide education and training to people living with or at risk of developing a wound, clinicians who those people and their careers and family.
- Provide equitable, accessible quality services.
We aim to empower and inspire healthcare professionals to provide consistent, competent and evidence based care with the aim of decreasing wound development and wound complications and increasing wound healing outcomes, ensuring people living with or at risk of developing a wound receive the right care, at the right time in the right place.
