DBTH offers a range of translation services to patients whose first language is not English.

We use Language Empire for interpreter services. This can be done for telephone conversations and for face-to-face appointments. Please let a member of staff know that you will need an interpreter as soon as possible.

If you arrive in an emergency situation or you are staying with us for an extended period, we also use CardMedic – a digital app which contains thousands of clinically validated scripts that have been reviewed by clinicians in multiple languages. Your clinical team can use this to keep you informed of your care during appointments or inpatient stays. Please ask your doctor or nurse to use the CardMedic app if an interpreter is not on hand.
