Travelling to your appointments or treatment

To support you in getting to your appointments and treatment, there are bus services available that run between hospital sites, as well as a Park and Ride service at Doncaster.

Bassetlaw Hospital and Doncaster Royal Infirmary

The Trust provides a free direct shuttle service to link the hospital sites of Bassetlaw Hospital and Doncaster Royal Infirmary, this service between the two sites takes approximately 30 minutes.  To book a seat on the shuttle service please telephone the Transport Department on 01909 572424. Doncaster Royal Infirmary and Montagu Hospital

This free service runs directly between the two sites and takes approximately 30 minutes. This is funded by Fred & Ann Green’s Legacy. The bus stop at Montagu is outside the main entrance on Adwick Road and at DRI outside the main Outpatient entrance at Gate 3. To guarantee a seat on the bus, telephone free phone number on any day Monday to Friday between 9am and 4.40pm on 0800 953 66 33.  If unable to book in advance seats will be allocated subject to availability. Doncaster Royal Infirmary Park and Ride

Available for hospital staff, patients and visitors runs between Doncaster Racecourse, Car Park ‘A’ on Leger Way, Doncaster and DRI, South Block main outpatients area, Monday to Friday (excluding Bank Holidays) between 5.50am and 10.00pm. This service costs 50p per journey.

The bus journey normally takes 5 – 7 minutes. Please allow adequate time to park your vehicle and ride up to the hospital in good time for your appointment. Hospital Security staff are on duty at the Park and Ride car park during operating hours. Click here for the Park & Ride bus timetable.


Firefly Patient Transport

Provides free transport for cancer patients to hospital appointments at Sheffield Hospitals:

  • Weston Park
  • Northern General
  • The Royal Hallamshire
  • Thornbury Hospital
  • and outpatient appointments at Mulberry Street.

Patients are asked to book on to the service using the provided telephone number as soon as they receive their hospital appointment letter.
