Carers

A carer is an individual who will provide unpaid care to a friend or family member who is ill, has a disability, mental health condition, or an addiction. They can also provide support to someone who may need extra help as they get older.

Importance of Carers

6,000 people in the UK start looking after someone close to them every day and for many this can happen gradually as the person who they end up caring for gets older. Most of us will have to take up a position of care at some point in our lives and face the challenges that many carers experience.

As a Trust, we know that carers provide crucial support to vulnerable patients as they progress through their path to recovery.
