T-Levels at DBTH

This page is your guide to understanding how T-Levels can help you get ready for your future career, especially if you’re interested in working in healthcare.

What Are T-Levels?

T-Levels are special two-year courses for students aged 16-19, usually taken after GCSEs. They’re like doing three A-Levels, but they’re more focused on giving you the skills you need for the workplace. T-Levels have been created with the help of employers and education experts to make sure you’re ready for a job, an apprenticeship, or further studies after you finish.

A T-Level combines classroom learning with hands-on work experience. You’ll spend 80% of your time learning at school or college and 20% doing real work on an industry placement. The work placement lasts for at least 315 hours, which is about 45 days, giving you a taste of what it’s like to work in your chosen field.

What T-Level Work Placements Does DBTH Offer?

Right now, DBTH offers work placements for students taking Health T-Levels. We’re planning to offer placements in other T-Level subjects soon, so keep an eye out!

How Do I Apply for a T-Level Work Placement at DBTH?

You can’t apply directly to the Trust for a T-Level placement. Instead, your school or college will organise it for you. Currently we only offer placement opportunities in partnerships with Doncaster College and the RNN group (Rotherham College, North Notts College and Dearne Valley College). If you’re interested in doing your placement with us, talk to your Placement Coordinator or Tutor at your school or college, and they’ll help set it up.
