The TERRI (Tracheostomy Emergency Respiratory and Resuscitation Issues) course is a simulation-based education program which uses high-fidelity manikins to help staff develop their immediate care skills when managing problems that may arise with these patients.
The TERRI course was initially developed following a needs analysis, which highlighted anxieties among colleagues who were caring for patients with tracheotomies. It was therefore proposed that a hands-on approach to training may help alleviate some of these anxieties. The manikins play the part of real-life patients and provide delegates with an opportunity to care for those patients with tracheostomies in situ, enabling them to face their fears in a safe environment and develop competence and confidence when caring for patients with tracheostomies.
We are delighted to open this course up to Open to Nursing and Allied Health Professionals as well as HCAs, and Care Support Workers in the community outside of the region to book. Please read the information below to find out more about TERRI and how you can book.
