Following endo-venous laser therapy
- The bandage that has been applied should ideally remain in position for 5 days. If it starts to fall down remove it and apply the white elastic stocking. The stocking should be worn for the next 2 weeks. It is only necessary to wear the stocking during the day.
- On removal of the bandage, you may see an operation site dressing around the knee. This is waterproof so you are able to bathe/shower. The dressing can be removed when the bandages are removed.
- You may see a small amount of oozing onto the Mepore dressing which has been applied to the puncture sites on your thigh. This is normal and will subside.
- Pain after surgery is to be expected and may be relieved by over the counter painkillers.
- Your leg may be bruised and sore in the first 2 weeks and it is advisable not to stand for prolonged periods. When sitting raise you leg on a chair or stool to aid recovery.
- It is advisable to refrain from driving for one week until you feel you are in control of your vehicle.
- You can return to work as soon as you feel able to do so.
