Dr Kirsty Edmondson Jones is our new Director of Innovation and Infrastructure

As a Trust, we are delighted to announce that Dr Kirsty Edmondson Jones has been appointed to the role of Director of Innovation and Infrastructure.

Kirsty has a wealth of experience within the NHS which she joined in 2004, having previously held a director-level position at the Priory Hospital in London. She joined Team DBTH in 2014 initially as Interim Director of Estates and Facilities, and was appointed to the role substantively in 2016.

During this time she has overseen numerous improvements and developments within the Trust and latterly has supported the new Directorate of Restoration, Innovation and Transformation as Strategic Director of Estates and Facilities.

In this new role, Kirsty will continue to develop our bid to build a new hospital in Doncaster, oversee the Capital Programme, as well as lead Quality and Improvement (QI) team. Other duties will include deputising for the Executive Director of Restoration, Innovation and Transformation.

Speaking about the role, Kirsty said: “I am really excited to be taking on this role. The past two years have been extremely tough, and it is now time to look ahead towards our recovery, and life beyond the pandemic. With this comes so much opportunity, and I can’t wait to meet with colleagues to see how we can harness the enthusiasm, innovation and dedication of Team DBTH to recover our services, get back to where we were and drive forwards towards our goal of being the safest Trust in England, outstanding in all that we do.”

While Kirsty is seconded to this role, Howard Timms will continue as Acting Director of Operational Estates and Facilities.

The Restoration, Innovation and Transformation directorate has been created to enhance and develop services and systems across the organisation, helping to identify and remove barriers and challenges. Crucially, the Directorate will look to ensure that teams are supported to recover services, so that our clinicians are able to make significant improvements in the services we deliver to our patients to ensure that they, in turn, receive the very best care and treatment.

The corporate teams which have come together to form the directorate are: Strategy and Improvement, Digital Transformation, Information and Informatics, Capital and the Performance Management Office.
