Supported by BPP University’s School of Nursing, local people are invited on the following dates to speak with the team about this opportunity:

  • 10am to 6pm 3 May – Doncaster Royal Infirmary’s Education Centre, confirm your attendance here.
  • 10am to 6pm 4 May – Bassetlaw Hospital’s Hub, confirm your attendance here.

You can just drop-in to these sessions, so even if you have a few minutes, do come along.

What is the qualification I will gain?

What is the length of the course?

This is a three-year, full-time degree consisting of field of practice, generic and practice learning modules. It starts at Level 4 and continues through to Level 6.  At the end you will be a Registered Nurse and can apply for jobs at DBTH and other providers. The starting wage for a staff nurse is currently £27,055 per annum (assuming 37.5 hours per week) raising to £32,934 after four years experience.

What qualifications do I need in order to apply?

  • 120 minimum tariff points required for this course; or,
  • Four GCSEs at Grade 4/5 or above, which must include English language and mathematics; OR,
  • Nursing Associate Qualification; OR,
  • Health Care Assistant Practitioner; OR,
  • A Higher Education Certificate in Health and Social Care; AND,
  • Digital literacy

BPP will also consider applicants who possess:

  • A recognised and equivalent vocational, industry or professional qualification
  • A recognised and equivalent qualification (examinations and experience) and apply following the Accredited Prior Learning procedure (APL). The credits are various based on your previous qualification. Your claim will be reviewed on an individual basis. Please contact us to discuss your application.
  • Five GCSEs at Grade C or above which must include English, mathematics and a science. For reformed GCSEs we accept a minimum of Grade 4 in English language and mathematics

Additional entry requirements

  • Students will need to demonstrate digital literacy
  • Key Skills Level 2 Maths and English

Health check

  • All offers will be conditional upon a satisfactory Occupational Health clearance

Individuals from BPP will be on-hand to advise on your application for the September 2023 cohort. Those who meet the criteria set out above may be interviewed on the day of the open event.
