Local hospitals in search of new Non-Executive Director

Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) is looking for an experienced and talented Non-Executive Director to join the Trust’s Board of Directors.

Non-executive Directors (NED) play a crucial role on any board by bringing an independent perspective to the Trust boardroom. They provide constructive challenge, help develop strategy and help to champion the values and behaviours necessary for the Trust to succeed.

As one of Yorkshire’s leading acute trusts, DBTH serves a population of more than 444,000 across South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and the surrounding areas. Employing over 6,600 people across three main hospital sites and a number of additional services, the Trust is one of only six teaching hospitals in Yorkshire and trains 25% of all medical students and 30% of all other health professionals in the region.
Interested candidates must have experience in a similar board-level environment, highly developed interpersonal and communication skills, sound independent judgment and diplomacy.

The successful candidate will be someone who is patient and community focussed with a strong commitment to the provision of high quality and safe care for patients. They will be engaging with carers and the community and committed to tackling health inequalities in disadvantaged groups.

Suzy Brain England OBE, Chair of the Board, said: “In all, we are looking for a highly influential, enthusiastic and motivated individual with great vision, energy, drive, relationships and the ability to enhance what we do as an organisation.

“This is a fantastic opportunity to join the Trust, lending your expertise and skill to help guide both the Board and the organisation into, what promises to be, a bright and exciting future.”
