Sponsor a star this Christmas at your local hospitals

The popular Christmas stars are set to return to Doncaster Royal Infirmary, Bassetlaw Hospital and Montagu Hospital this year, acting as a tribute to the hard work of all NHS staff and as a way of remembering those who sadly are no longer with us.

Last year, the stars were sponsored by over 60 local businesses, families, and organisations, with each donating between £300 to £1,500 in order to sponsor a star, raising over £30,000 for the Trust’s charity.

This year you can once again sponsor a star, with all funds raised being directly reinvested into patient care, as well as treatment and facilities at the Trust.

The prices for the stars start at:

  • £300 for a star in memory for family and friends (a price that can be split between multiple individuals if required)
  • £500 for schools and community groups
  • £800 for small businesses
  • £1,500 for large businesses

Richard Parker OBE, Chief Executive at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals, said: “We are hoping to experience the same support this year as we achieved last Christmas, when we were amazed by the generosity of local businesses, organisations, and families. The hospitals all looked amazing with the stars shining on them, and they were a fantastic way of showing support to our NHS heroes, whilst also paying respects to those who have sadly passed.

“It has undoubtedly been one of the toughest periods in the history of the NHS, but the varying acts of kindness shown to us here at the Trust has given everyone a huge morale boost. So please, if you can, consider sponsoring a star over this festive period as any donation, be it big or small, will make a huge difference.”

Sponsors of last years stars included a number of generous local families, individuals and schools, as well as the following businesses and organisations: DFS who were the headline sponsors of the event, Greencore, Polypipe, DAC Beachcroft, Ye Olde Bell, Tusker Direct, OLS Ltd, Star Commercials, Doncaster Chamber, the Fred and Ann Green Legacy Fund, Doncaster College, Prospect Hill Post Office, Doncaster Council, National Fluid Power Station, NHS Doncaster and Bassetlaw Clinical Commissioning Groups, XPO Logistics, NMC Group, HIRD, AMH Accountancy, Quayside Childcare, Pacy and Wheatley, SYS Ltd, Instastop, NHS Professionals, National Kidney Federation, The Crucible Trading Company, Companionate Care Team, Marketing Labs and Transave to name a few.
