The event follows the route of Hadrian’s Wall and must be completed in a single continuous effort.
Zara, who will be taking part alongside her husband, started running during the COVID-19 lockdowns and has gradually built up to longer endurance events.
Ahead of the challenge, Zara said: “This is by far the biggest challenge I’ve taken on. It’s 70 miles of running, walking, climbing and, towards the end, probably sheer determination.
“Running has taught me that you can be uncomfortable and still keep going. That’s something I see every day at DBTH, where colleagues continue to support patients and one another, even when things are tough.
“I’m proud to be raising money for DBTH Charity, helping to support patients, families and colleagues across our hospitals.”
