AB Counselling

Specialist cancer counselling services offering a free 15 minute consultation to all Elpis service users.  Discounted counselling sessions are available for £30 per session. These can be accessed by self-referral or patients with a diagnosis can receive free counselling if they are referred by their cancer nurse specialist.

Doncaster Mind

Doncaster Mind promotes emotional wellbeing, independent living and recovery from mental health illness. Wellbeing services include one-to-one support and counselling. Crisis services support immediate mental health and wellbeing needs. This is a free service and patients can self-refer.

Open Minds Counselling

Doncaster based counselling service covering all issues. This service is open to anyone over the age of 8 years old and patients can self-refer. There are male and female counsellors available. The service charges from £2 – £15 dependant on household income. Fast-track appointments are £30.

IAPT at Doncaster

Doncaster IAPT is an adult mental health service, offering evidence-based interventions to individuals over the age of 18 experiencing common mental health problems, such as anxiety, depression or stress. Services include CBT, IPT, EMDR and more. Free service for local Doncaster residents. Patients can self-refer.

Relate at Doncaster

Providers of relationship, family and children and young people’s counselling. Not directly cancer counselling, relate can help support and address the effects that a cancer diagnosis can have on a couples or family’s relationship. Offers counselling for children over the age of 11. Sessions start from £40. Patient can self-refer.

Helping Hands Community Centre

Edlington based community centre that provides services for the whole of Doncaster, including counselling, wellbeing classes, and legal, benefit and employment support. Patients can self-refer by calling the number below. Most services are free, but some craft sessions have a small charge.

Team Verrico

Following an initial consultation, Team Verrico can help a patient access counselling, childcare, cleaning, and food services and second opinion cancer consultations. This service is only available to patients with a cancer diagnosis with children in the family that are under the age of 18. Patients can self-refer.

Bee You Counselling

A not-for-profit community interest company offering patient led and integrative counselling services to residents of Mexborough and the surrounding areas. Counselling sessions start from £25 per session. Patients can self-refer.

St. Johns Bereavement Counselling

The Counselling Service aims to support individuals with a life limiting illness and/or families of individuals with a life limiting illness. Bereavement counselling can help a person to deal effectively with grief. Must have a cancer or a life limiting illness diagnosis. Patients can self-refer. Referral form available.

Therapy services covering a wide range of conditions. Offers funded CBT therapy and counselling sessions. Patients can self-refer. Mention Aurora when contacting for a small discount off normal prices. Prices start at £22.50

  • Free 1 to 1 mental health support sessions for all areas.
  • Bereaved by Suicide Support Group.
  • Free family legal advice.
  • Women’s only groups for confidence building, domestic violence support.
