A joint project between South Yorkshire Children and Young People’s Alliance, Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals and local schools, has been shortlisted for an award at the HSJ Partnership Awards.

Health professionals at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) today (8 February) celebrated the career of Dr Dinesh Chadha, Stroke Consultant, as he marked his 70th birthday and an astounding 40 years of dedicated service to the National Health Service (NHS).

This year’s ENT Masterclass took place from 26 to 28 January at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. The event, organised by Mr. Shahed Quraishi OBE, consultant and founding director, saw participation and attendance from esteemed professionals in the field of Otolaryngology across 37 lectures, discussions and other interactive sessions.

Health professionals at Doncaster Royal Infirmary had the opportunity to see the Intuitive da Vinci Xi Surgical robot in action last week, following the announcement that Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals Charity will fund the £3.6 million* device to deliver cancer surgery for local patients.

In early 2020, £17.6m was announced in support of a proposal by Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (DBTH to increase the size of the Emergency Department (ED) and provide a more accessible Children’s Assessment Unit (CAU) and Assessment Treatment Centre (ATC).

A Bassetlaw resident and his family have donated a staggering £10,000 to the Urology service at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH).
