Non-Executive Directors (NED) play a crucial role on the Board, bringing an independent perspective to the Trust boardroom. They provide constructive challenge, help develop strategy and set the ‘tone at the top’ by championing and role-modelling the values and behaviours necessary for the Trust to succeed.
As one of Yorkshire’s leading acute trusts, DBTH serves a population of more than 440,000 across South Yorkshire, North Nottinghamshire and the surrounding areas. Employing over 6,600 people across three main hospital sites, the Trust is one of only a handful of Teaching Hospitals in Yorkshire, training 25% of all medical students in the region as well as 30% of all other clinical professions.
Suzy Brain England OBE, Chair of the Board, said: “I believe this is a wonderful opportunity for two experienced and skilled Non-Executive Directors to join the Trust – particularly at such a crucial time. You will be lending your considerable expertise and skill to help guide both the Board and the organisation into a time which will have its challenges and opportunities as we begin to recover from this once in a generation pandemic.
“As is befitting of the people of Doncaster and North Nottinghamshire, we are looking for the very best of the best to join us. If you have reached the peak within your particular field and wish to lend your skills to the NHS, please consider these vacancies and make a difference to the quality and delivery of local patient care and treatment.
Interested candidates must have board-level experience, highly developed interpersonal and communication skills and sound, independent judgment, common-sense and a good sense of diplomacy. Of the two vacancies, at least one should have clinical or medical experience ideally within an acute hospital setting.
The closing date for applications is 21 January 2022.
