Breast Care

Our Breast Services are provided in two purpose-built units at Doncaster (the Jasmine Centre) and Bassetlaw (the Princess Diana Mammography Unit).

Contact service

We offer diagnosis and treatment of benign and malignant breast conditions on both sites including initial assessment, surgery and follow up. Patients benefit from rapid assessment of new problems with a consultation, imaging and biopsy undertaken in a single visit. Results are usually given within a week.

We have a multidisciplinary team of 6 Consultant Breast Surgeons, 2 Specialist Breast Surgeons, 4 Nurse practitioners and 6 Breast Care Nurses. We are supported by a team of Nurses, an admin team, Radiologists and Radiographers, 2 Consultant Oncologists and a team of Consultant Pathologists.

Surgery is undertaken on both sites. Occasionally, patients may be referred to another hospital for highly specialised surgery.

Oncology consultations take place in Doncaster and treatments are given in a specialist unit (the Chatsfield Suite) in Doncaster or at Weston Park Hospital in Sheffield.

Jasmine Breast Centre

The reception desk is open Monday to Friday 8.30am to 4.30pm (4pm on Friday).

The Jasmine Breast Centre is a specialised Breast Unit at Doncaster Royal Infirmary.  This centre is located on the ground floor of the South Block .

The Jasmine Centre provides a full range of services for the management of breast conditions, including a full range of procedures for diagnosis and treatment of breast cancer as well as benign breast conditions.

We work as a multi-disciplinary team with three Consultant Surgeons, supported by an Oncology Team and Nurse Practitioners.

Princess Diana Mammography Unit

The reception desk is open Monday to Thursday 9am to 4.30pm.

The Princess Diana Mammography Unit at Bassetlaw Hospital is for patients who have found an abnormality in their breast. Urgent referrals are seen within two weeks; routine referrals will be a little longer.

The Unit is staffed by doctors and radiographers, who specialise in breast imaging (mammography), and nurses who specialise in breast care.  They are dedicated professionals, who will do their best to answer all your questions and try and reassure you while you are there.
