Interested in pursuing a career in health and social care?

Health professionals at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH) are inviting students (16+) and those considering a career change to come along to Doncaster Royal Infirmary and find out what opportunities the local NHS has to offer.

Taking place throughout Friday 26 May, this is your chance to gain an insight into healthcare careers at DBTH and meet with clinicians and representatives from local universities and colleges to find out vacancies, as well as the courses and qualifications you need to pursue a life in health and social care.

What will the session include?

There are a range of talks scheduled to include:

  • Routes into health and social care from academics within Sheffield Hallam University and The University of Sheffield.
  • A health and social care panel with representatives from universities giving an interactive talk
  • Doncaster College provide information about their further educational opportunities at Levels 2 and 3
  • Student finance advice delivered by Student Finance England
  • Opportunities within the Trust, how to gain work experience, roles and support with a career at DBTH.

There will be also be interactive and educational stands where you can meet representatives from a range of nursing, midwifery and allied health professions. Also on hand will be advisors to discuss student finances, course admissions, qualification requirements and the application process for health career courses.

When will these sessions take place?

The event will be held on Friday 26 May 2023. There are a number of sessions available from afternoon until evening, each session will cover the same content and will be approximately an hour long. Attendees can choose which session to book on, select the ticket appropriate for your availability.

Where is the ‘Your Future in Healthcare’ event being held?

The event will be held on site at Doncaster Royal Infirmary. Please enter the hospital grounds via Thorne Road (Gate 1) and proceed to the Women’s and Children’s Hospital. Please wait at the reception within the Women’s and Children’s Hospital entrance where you will then be guided by staff to the event location. A map of the site is available here.
