Clinical Laboratory Sciences (Blood Sciences) provide a wide range of Clinical Biochemistry, Haematology, Immunology and Blood Transfusion tests and investigations. It operates a 24 hours, 7 days a week service.

Consultant advice (separately for Clinical Biochemistry and Haematology) is available on-site on an open access basis during normal working hours and on an on-call basis at all other times. Consultant input to the Immunology service is provided by Sheffield Teaching Hospitals.

Add-On Requests
For clinical biochemistry and haematology add-on requests, please complete this ‘add on request form’ and send a hardcopy to Specimen Reception on the Doncaster or Bassetlaw site either directly or via the pneumatic tube system. The laboratory is currently only able to accept add-on requests for paediatric patients from all locations and adult patients from acute inpatient locations. Requests made via telephone or email will not be accepted.
